New Mosque

Also known as Valide Sultan Mosque, its construction began in 1597 under Safiye Sultan and was completed in 1665 under Turhan Hatice Sultan. As the last of the grand imperial mosques, it stands as a symbol of Istanbul’s skyline.

In the 2020 restoration, Iznik Mavi Cini produced 850 Iznik tiles in various sizes (25x25 cm, 12x25 cm, and 9x25 cm) for the interior ornamentation, replicating the original craftsmanship.
